When stitched, the Artist’s Palette Felt Ornament measures approximately 3.5" wide  x  2.9” tall (84x73mm) and sews entirely in the 4x4" hoop (100x100mm). Stitching time is approximately 5 minutes, not including set-up.

I stitched my palette on tan felt, but you can use any colour you wish, and vary the paint colours to your taste.

MR. PIPER ORNAMENT

This applique-style ornament sews on a foundation of white felt and uses peach felt for the face and black felt for the hat. The other details are embroidered. 

He stitches in just over 10 minutes and can be completed right in the 4" hoop.

Mr. Piper is approximately  3.4x3.7”   when completed – the perfect size for a lightweight tree ornament.

Mr. Piper was a Canadian-made children's show from the early 60s that ran in Canada and Britain, and in limited US locales. I loved it as a child. Click here to see the T-shirt I made with a similar design for my friend's birthday.

This nifty Bag of Cheesies ornament design is embroidered as a flat piece in the 4x4” hoop, then finished with a conventional sewing machine once embroidery is complete.

This simple-stitch ornament sews on two layers of silver grey felt over a foundation of tear-away stabilizer.

It stitches diagonally in the 4" hoop, in under 3 minutes .

Eiffel Tower ornament is approximately  4.5” tall  when completed, and hangs from a string or hook through the incorporated eyelet. It's a perfect lightweight tree ornament.

SANTA YIN YANG ORNAMENT

This applique-style ornament sews on a foundation of white felt and uses a red fabric (felt, velour, or fashion fabric) for the "yin" side. In the sample I've used felt, but you could choose a print fabric overlay to vary the look of the ornament.

The finished ornament is approximately 3.5" in diameter, and sew up in approximately 11 minutes. A stitched pattern on the "beard" side of the ornament gives added texture.

MAPLE LEAF SHIELD ORNAMENT

This applique-style ornament sews over fashion fabric on a foundation of colored felt and is perfect for stitching on plaid or tartan. Coordinate the colors of the satin stitching to match or complement the colors of the fashion fabric underneath.

The design comes with two phrases: "Canada" and "Canada 150" (I originally designed it for Canada's sesquicentennial celebrations in 2017), but you can use your software to create any phrase or name you wish. It also includes the years 2021 through 2030, plus the year 2017 in case you wish to retroactively make the 150th ornament.

This applique-style ornament sews over fashion fabric on a foundation of colored felt and is perfect for stitching on plaid or tartan. Available with either Piper or Highland Dancer motifs -- please let me know which you prefer.   Coordinate the colors of the satin stitching to match or complement the colors of the fashion fabric underneath.

The finished Maple Leaf ornament with Piper or Dancer measures approximately 3.9" wide and 3.6" tall (99x81mm). It stitches entirely in the 4x4" hoop (100x100mm) in approximately 10 minutes. The small eyelet stitched at the peak of the leaf allows the ornament to hang from a hook or a string.

To make a colour-blocked version, assemble the four-colour panel first, then apply it as you would any other applique.

When on the tree, the frame ornament  hangs on a slight angle, suspended from a hook or string through the eyelet on the upper left.
