FREE ALPHABET LETTER

  • This  Pretoria alphabet is similar to one that's built in to many of Brother's embroidery machines.  The letter W is available free in 2" size until 28 March 2024. I'll continue to release a new letter each Friday until the alphabet is complete.

JEN'S PROJECTS

  • Much to my friend's disappointment, his Mighty Mouse ornament has been damaged. The little super hero needs a hand . . . and a couple of feet.
  • So: here I come, to save the day! To see MM's makeover, click here to find a link to my PDF.
  • At the same time, you can check out the PDFs of my previous projects from this year and former years.

NEWS & DOINGS

  • Scampers just loves to involve himself in whatever I'm doing. It's an endearing trait, but it can be challenging to get anything cut out when he insists on lying right on top of the fabric I'm working with.
  • I was doing some editing on the site, adjusting some prices, and I managed to screw up the entire catalogue! There's no "undo" button, so I've been trying to repair the damage. You'll notice that in the process I've lowered some of the prices.
  • By request, I have added a "Singer 222K" spool pad to the FW spool pad collection. If you previously bought this set, you can re-download to ge the new one. Yola will keep the links viable for only the next 48 hours though, so you'll need to act quickly.

If you don't get the download done in that window, you can contact me and I'll send it along when I get a chance.

  • Also by request, I added the Snowman Piper ornament back to the site.  You'll note a price reduction on the In-the-Hoop Ornaments as well.
  • Our friend Mike is having a birthday this weekend, and that means it's time for a new pair of custom underwear! I know he's going to love this snazzy red pair, just like Hubby did when I showed them to him.  (There's a pair in his future too, though he doesn't know it yet).
  • And speaking of DH, this Sylvester pair will also be a gift for him. He loves Looney Tunes, so this pair will be happily received. These will replace the very first pair I ever stitched for him, which were made from this very fabric.
  • The touch screen on my embroidery machine has finally given up the ghost completely, and this time it doesn't respond when I try to recalibrate. It definitely needs to be replaced, but we don't have a service tech in town. I'd love to take it to Jaret in Newmarket, but that's nearly 3000 km from here. My only other option is to truck it up to Edmonton, a 7-hour drive.
  • As a result I won't be doing any embroidery for a while . . . which means I won't be able to embroider any gifts for Christmas this year since it's unlikely to be up and running again before the fall.
  • It's decades since my sister and I made a trip to Port aux Basques, travelling on the MV William Carson -- at that time the pride of the CN Marine fleet.
  • I must have purchased this patch back then, though it has lain forgotten in my stash until I rediscovered it recently. I'm thinking that I'll use it to make an ornament, a memento of that long-ago trip.
  • Actually, it's irreplaceable. The William Carson is no more: it sank back in 1977 after striking an iceberg . . . just like the Titanic.
  • Sofka wrote to tell me about the beautiful accessories she made for her Featherweight  using my designs. They are just gorgeous!  Find some more inspiration in other client projects by clicking here.
