I stitched my palette on tan felt, but you can use any colour you wish, and vary the paint colours to your taste.

CATHEDRAL WINDOW IN-THE-HOOP ORNAMENT

This Cathedral Window style ornament is easier to make than the traditional style, and stitches up almost entirely in the 4x4" hoop. Buttons are hand-sewn to the center after the ornament is completed. 

Simple machine quilting is optional but gives a finished effect to the back of the ornament.

When completed, the Cathedral Window ornament is approximately  3.6” square -- or 5" tall -- and hangs from the tree via an incorporated ribbon or string.

SANTA YIN YANG ORNAMENT

This applique-style ornament sews on a foundation of white felt and uses a red fabric (felt, velour, or fashion fabric) for the "yin" side. In the sample I've used felt, but you could choose a print fabric overlay to vary the look of the ornament.

The finished ornament is approximately 3.5" in diameter, and sew up in approximately 11 minutes. A stitched pattern on the "beard" side of the ornament gives added texture.

MAPLE LEAF SHIELD ORNAMENT

This applique-style ornament sews over fashion fabric on a foundation of colored felt and is perfect for stitching on plaid or tartan. Coordinate the colors of the satin stitching to match or complement the colors of the fashion fabric underneath.

The design comes with two phrases: "Canada" and "Canada 150" (I originally designed it for Canada's sesquicentennial celebrations in 2017), but you can use your software to create any phrase or name you wish. It also includes the years 2021 through 2030, plus the year 2017 in case you wish to retroactively make the 150th ornament.
